From time to time I get involved with community projects because it’s nice to be able to put something back...

Ben Rhydding Community Fête - June 2006

This was the first time Ben Rhydding had held a fête and I volunteered to organise and run a plant stall to raise money for the National Gardens Scheme Charity.

The afternoon was a huge success.  Lots of people got involved and everyone had a great afternoon.

‘Bradford Cares’ - Wyke Manor School, June 2003

As part of a business in the community initiative the inner courtyard of the school was given a ‘Groundforce’ style garden makeover.

The school was simply delighted with the result - below and right.

The pupils take great pride in keeping the courtyard looking good.

Different plants and bulbs give interest all year round and there is space for classes to be taught outside in summer.

The courtyard was in a sorry state when I first saw it (see picture, left)

Materials were provided by sponsoring companies & a team of volunteers gave up a day in the office to work at the school.

I designed and project managed the transformation.
